- Insulin Syringes 31G, 0.5 mL (100-count) Syringes — 31G needle, 0.5 mL barrel, 1 unit lines
- Alcohol Prep Pads (200-count) Alcohol prep pads — the standard skin wipe; one per site
- Sharps Disposal Container Sharps container — certified, locking lid; a full one goes to a pharmacy or collection point, not the bin
Nice to have
Makes it easier, cheaper or more comfortable. None are required.
- Sterile Gauze Pads, 2×2 in Gauze — thirty seconds of pressure prevents most bruises
- Syringe Magnifier Clip Syringe magnifier — doubles the markings on a 0.3 mL barrel
- Mini Cold Packs Cold pack — numbs the site for a few seconds before, soothes after
- Dose Log Book Log book — date, site, how it felt; the thing a doctor can actually use

Sold everywhere; most people do not need them, and here is why.
- Lidocaine Numbing Cream (4–5%) Numbing cream — needs 30–60 minutes and most people stop using it after week one; try the cold pack first
