Why you’d want it: Talking, or just breathing, over an open stopper is the main way anything gets into a vial. A mask for the two minutes of mixing removes it.

Picking tip: Any three-layer mask with a nose wire does the job; the 'medical' or 'type IIR' grade is a nice-to-have, not a need. A box of fifty is years of mixing. Put it on before you open anything, not halfway through.
