Inject-Ease Automatic Injector

A spring-loaded sleeve that an insulin syringe clicks into. Press it to the skin, push the button, and it inserts the needle for you — quickly, and without you watching the point go in.

Why you’d want it: Made for people who freeze with the needle a centimetre from the skin. Removes the slow approach that causes most of the sting, and hides the needle from view.

Picking tip: Inject-Ease takes the ordinary insulin syringes on this site; Autoject 2 (the backup) needs a fixed-needle 1 mL syringe and is more common in the UK. Practise on the practice pad first: the click is louder than you expect and the first go is a surprise. Wipe the sleeve with an alcohol pad after each use.
