Electric Insulin Cooler (battery, 2–20 °C)
A small powered cooler with a rechargeable battery and a thermostat you set — 2 to 20 °C — with the temperature on a screen. Holds a few vials or pens for a day or two on one charge, longer plugged in.
- Rechargeable, USB-C
- Set 2–20 °C
- Temperature display
- Fits vials and pens
Why you’d want it: The first cooler that doesn't depend on an ice pack. Set it to 4 °C, and it stays at 4 °C in a hot car, a hotel with no fridge, or a 20-hour journey. Most people have no idea these exist.
Picking tip: Check three things in the listing: the battery size (10,000 mAh is a day; 20,000 is two), that it can run from a power bank or USB-C while travelling, and that the lowest setting is 2 °C rather than 'up to 20 °C below room'. It is allowed in hand luggage; the battery is not allowed in the hold, so it travels with you either way.
