Why you’d want it: For the fiddly bits an alcohol pad can't reach: the rim under a flip-off cap, the inside of a case, the top of a bottle.

Picking tip: Sterile and wrapped, not the bathroom-cabinet bag of loose ones. Wooden shafts are fine; the flexible plastic ones bend when you press. These are for cleaning things — the vial stopper still gets a proper alcohol pad.
