Whey Protein Isolate (unflavoured)

Protein powder with the lactose and fat mostly removed. Unflavoured, so it goes into porridge, yoghurt or a shake without tasting of vanilla.

  • Isolate, ~25 g protein per scoop
  • Unflavoured
  • Low lactose

What it’s for

For anyone eating less and trying to keep protein up, this is the simplest way to add 25 g without cooking. Unflavoured is the one you won't get sick of.

What to check in the listing

'Isolate' rather than 'concentrate' if milk bothers you; 'concentrate' is fine and cheaper if it doesn't. Unflavoured whey tastes of very little, which is the point — flavour it yourself with cocoa or fruit. Buy the 1 kg bag first, not the 2.3 kg (5 lb) tub, until you know you'll use it.

Supplements are food, not medicine: nothing here treats or prevents anything. If you take any medicine, ask a pharmacist first.

PriceMid-rangePrice tier is the rough position within its category, not a live price: budget is the cheapest sensible option, premium costs more for a reason the page explains.
