CoQ10 (Ubiquinol)
Coenzyme Q10 softgels, 100–200 mg. 'Ubiquinol' is the active form that absorbs better; 'ubiquinone' is the cheaper, older one.
- Ubiquinol form
- 100–200 mg
- Softgels
Why you’d want it: A pharmacy-shelf regular, especially for people on a statin, and one of the few supplements older readers already take.
Picking tip: It is fat-soluble: take it with the meal that has the most fat in it, or it mostly passes through. 100 mg of ubiquinol is roughly the same as 200 mg of ubiquinone. Softgels beat tablets here. If you take a blood thinner, mention it.
Supplements are food, not medicine: nothing here treats or prevents anything. If you take any medicine, ask a pharmacist first.
